Burning of the Tree

The Sunday after Christmas, we all went outside to see Dad burning the old Christmas tree from last year. The kids were fascinated by it and enjoyed very much. At first Alex was not sure about it but after a while it thought that was pretty cool. He even spend the rest of the trip trying to get me to go outside while saying "fire" so he can see the fire again.
 Ready for the fire

On Monday, we went to Casa Bonita and meet up the aunt Lyne, uncle Doug  , aunt Claudia and uncle Rick. We had a great time catching up and love seeing them when we go to Colorado.( sorry no pictures of that, left my camera) But here are some picture I took the first time we took Gennie there for her birthday. It's pretty cool there, They have shows and  even a magic show.

Merry Christmas!!!

Dear Loved Ones,
It has been an eventful year in the Vinton family, with lots of growth taking place.  Alex is growing taller, Genne is growing chubbier (… err… healthy… don’t let her see this when she’s a teenager), Suze is growing in knowledge with many new skills, and Matt is growing impatient for school to end.  This growth has led to many fun and memorable events over the past year that we want you all to enjoy.
Genevieve had many ‘firsts’ this year.  She learned how to walk at 7 months, had her first tooth much later at almost one year, and has mastered the art of dancing.  Genne is easy to spot in a crowd with her many layers of bright clothing and her sassy attitude.  If she’s near others, she will act like the tax collector and snatch any portions of food that aren’t carefully guarded.  I must admit that we do need to watch her closely around the little boys.  She has been caught freely giving out hugs and kisses to anyone within arm’s reach.  However, Suze couldn’t be prouder of her little girl.  Genne is a beauty and finally has enough hair to wear the bows that Suze has been making since she heard the words, “It’s a girl.”
Alex is probably Genne’s favorite person in the whole word, and it’s easy to see why.  There isn’t anything he owns that he won’t willingly share with Genne, including the use of his back for a chair.  Alex has been expanding his horizons in terms of what he will eat.  Instead of just eating chicken nuggets, he will also willingly eat pizza and waffles.  A funny moment for Alex was when he discovered the funk within.  He was never much of a dancer until he heard some funk music coming from one of Genne’s toys.  Ever since then, he’s been gettin’ down with da funk.  Alex has impressed us all by learning the alphabet, counting to 20, and being able to do basic addition without having ever uttered a full sentence.  After he finishes singing the alphabet, you can always catch him making up his own songs.
Suze has been keeping busy, and she likes it that way.  On top of keeping a watchful eye on the two little troublemakers - Genne and Matt - she has picked up many hobbies.  Suze loves taking pictures and has been able to take many family pictures for her friends.  In spite of insisting that she doesn’t need to read the instruction manual for anything, she has learned how to use her complex camera and master Photoshop in a short amount of time.  Genne is her little doll.  If Suze had her way, we wouldn’t spend any income on groceries.  It would all go into making Genne and Alex look cute.  Suze wants everyone to know that her family is doing better after the earthquake in Haiti this last year.
Matt has decided that he loves economics so much that he ended up taking a couple classes more than once (ouch!).  His two little ones are so cute that he has a hard time making it to class.  However, the next time you get another one of these letters, he will be done.  A funny experience that Matt had this year was being turned down for a promotion because he made the interviewer laugh too much (and it wasn’t just his funny looks).  One of these days he’ll learn the proper time to joke around.
We’re so happy and so blessed to have people like you in our lives.  We think of each of you often.

Warm fuzzy holiday regards,
The Vinton Family

Christmas PJ's

We got the kids some Christmas pj's and they look so cute running around  the house laughing together. And plus, they had candy canes, which make them extra excited. I love those happy baby!

The only picture I was able to get with the two of them together. . . They usually doesn't sit still together long enough for a picture.

Gennie loves teddy bear and she will always carry them around like a baby and rock them. . . So cute!

She also loves to give them hugs, , , Must be a girl thing because Alex never care much for them.
Gennie with her two new friend that she got yesterday. . . One was suppose to be for Alex but he didn't want it, so now all the teddy bear are Gennie's :)

Today, we went to Temple Square with the kids to see the light. . . It was a lot of fun and really beautiful. Gennie was hungry and grumpy so Matt carried her the whole time.
