A step to independancy. . .

Alex is learning a whole lot. He finally figured out how to get of the couch without hurting himself, now he does go head first and land on the floor anymore. He is officially a walker and even try running now. Sometimes, if the door to our room is open, he will always try to run to get to the room before someone sees him and closes the door.

And now, he is self feeding and will sometime refuse to eat from a spoon with the my help or Matt's, until we put it on his tray, so he could put it in his mouth.

After he was done,he threw the plate on the floor, so we still have to work on that . Now, I am just looking forward to the day, he will clean up his room. I am probably dreaming, but a girl got to dream, right?

I am thankful for . . .

I have being bless all my life and this thanksgiving day, I want to take a few moment to let you know of a few things that I am thankful for.

1. A wonderful husband.
2. Alexandre's cuteness.
3. Alex's health, he being pretty healthy so far except when he is theething.
4. Our apartment.
5. Matt's sense of humor( Not always funny, but he's always trying)
6. Great ward friends( even though I wait way to long to finally make friends)
7. My family, who are always there for me.
8. Being raise in a different country.
9. My in-laws, who accepted me so openly.
10. My soooo wonderful sister.
11. Alex's way of making me smile and making me angry in just one afternoon.
12. My calling, I get to learn more ways to create cards.
13. The way Gerald spoils Alex.
14. My wonderful friendship with Matt.
15. The Church and all that it offers.
16. Video games, to keep me sane.
17. The many different ways to cook spaghetti.
18. rice, which we ate almost everyday.
19. Scrapbooking, keep my mind going, so I don't go completely dumb.
20. Alex's ability to finally sleep through the night, even if he goes to bed around 12:00 or 1:00 AM.

There are many more, but I don't want to put you to sleep, So hope you enjoyed at least a little bit. Hope you had or having great thanksgiving.

The other day, Alex had a great time watching Daddy pounch the litlle pounching bag. He was laughting to hard that I had to share it with everyone.

We took Alex to the playground, in other to play with the leaves and here are the results. At first, he was not sure what to do and cried a few time but after a while he was fine.

Shenanigans

Alex gets to the point where he will open his drawers and put everything on the floor. He will do that while he is awake and I will put then back when he is napping ( that's usually how I keep busy). Often, he will fall asleep on top of everything. . . But on thuesday, he did between his room and the hall, probably on his way to the main room. Well, it use to be cute, but now it is just plain ennoying.

Another thing is taking the movies out and sit inside the drawer. He thinks that is a pretty clever thing to do, and is very proud of himself for that discovery. He also enjoys unplugging out computer when they are charging.

Alex loves watching Phineas and Ferb and often when Candace ( Phineas and Ferb older sister) will scream, Alex will follow with one even louder. Sometimes, I will be bless with two, one before and another right after. He also like to rock out with Daddy, he is actually getting " pretty good" at it. He will put the microphone in his mouth and chewing on the top.

Maybe next time, I'll be able to take a better picture without the binky.

'"Thinking about what to do next"

Today, we went for Alex's one year check up and he is doing really well. He wanted to walk around the room, so whenever, doctor Anderson tried to check him, he put up a good fight. when tried to look at his throat, he will hold the tongue between his teeth and the doctor had to pull hard to get it out. He thought, that really funny watching the doctor trying to get it out between his teeth. He also had his shots today, four of them, and cry for about 5 min. and nap as soon as we got home.

He weights 20 lb 4 1/2 oz, 30 1/4 inches tall and his head is 46 1/2 cms. He had gotten 67% taller since his last check up, so we are still not sure how tall he will be. . . But I am hoping he will be as tall as his grandpas.

In the morning before we had Alex party, we went to play in outside and I got to learn the arckery. We had ton of fun and that was my first time. I toke ton of pictures, so I post as much as I can.

Happy Birthday Alex !!!

We had a great birthday for Alex and he got spoil all the way. He had ton of presents and Uncle Jim drove two hours with his cousins to come and celebrate with him, Thanks Jim. Grandpa grilled hot dogs for the boys and surpringly Alex ate a whole hot dog all by himself. Grandma made him his special soy cake which he got to put all over himself, the high chair and the floor. We had a great time watching him attacked his cake and open his presents and played with everyone. It is being such a wonderful year watching grow and I am looking forward to many more. He is a joyful blessing and a great kid to be around.

How well do you know Alex !!!!

Well, I thought for his birthday, I will post a few things about him so other people will get to know him better. If, I forget anything that you may know about him, feel free to post it as a comment.

1. He was born on November 2nd, 2007 at 11;35 AM on Friday.
2. He was 6 lb 4 oz and 18".
3. He was born with long black hair doing down his back.
4. He was born with green eyes. . . too bad he did not get to keep it, although his big brown eyes are really beautiful.
5. Alex prefers soy over cow milk...due to allergies.
6. Sucked on the same fingers Uncle Brian did at his age... just not for as long.
7. Had his first tooth at 8 months and developed a taste for human flesh.
8. Started crawling at 5 months.
9. He was so loved by his wonderful aunty Lisa, that she drop everything to come and spend his first week home with us.
10. Taught himself how to walk at 10 months without people holding him up.
11. He prefers to eat breakfast while pooping.
12. He is the happiest when he wakes up in the morning.
13. Stood at 9 1/2 months and discovers our movie cabinet.
14. He loves to travel and discover new places just like Grandpa Vinton.
15. He says Daddy eventhough he has no idea what Daddy is.
16. He flops around like a fish out of water while sleeping.
17. His boyhood is masked by his girly screams and thick curly hair.
18. He loves telephones as much as Grandma (Michelle).
19. Enjoys taking a bath and getting his hair wet.
20. He loves listening to music and even shows a litlle of Mommy's dance move and Daddy's loose hip.
21. Sits in his bathtub whenever he gets a chance to, with or without water.
22. Cries whenever someone leaves our apartment, including the pizza delivery guy.
23. Pulls your shirt, when he wants your attention.
24. Our little camel drinks about 21 oz of juice a day.
25. Favorite dinner, Chicken Noodle.
26. Favorite snack, Lil' Crunchy, Zezty Tomatoes.
27. He hates brocolli... and that's about it.
28. He talks and laughs in his sleep (Matt's fault).
29. Has a nice defined set of legs... the doctor said so!
30. He looks the best in red and dark blue, although all colors work for him. Lucky kid!!!
31. Likes to jump on the couch with Mommy's help.
32. Enjoys being thrown on the couch or bed.
33. He always runs after the girls in Sunday school.
34. Gets really excited when Daddy gets home and forgets all about Mommy.
35. Loves playing with my belly button which hopefully won't last for too long.
36. Pulls on Daddy's chest hair.
37. Bites your big toe if he can find it, expecially when you're napping.
38. Runs to get to the bathroom or balcony before you close the door.
    
39. Loves to play under the coffee table and the kitchen.
40. Greatest fears: Darth Vader... and the Listerine commercial.
41. He sleeps on long car rides.
42. His favorite movie is Speed Racer.
    
43. He prefers yellow binkies.
    
44. He understands "come here" in English and Creole.
45. His favorite animal to chew on is a giraffe.
46. He owns the nicest fournitures in the house.
47. His first toy was a hammer from Tonton Fouchet.
48. He loves having his picture taken.
49. He pulls on his hair while he falls asleep.
50. He likes to play rough and doesn't cry easily.
51. His belly is the biggest part of his body.
52. The thing that makes him angriest is not being able to open the movie cabinets.
53. As a new born, it would take him about 1 hour to drink 2 oz of formula.
54. He is not a picky eater, however he is very picky about his formula brand, only soy Similac.
55. He has a great immune system, only sick once, with an ear infection.
56. He won third place for his halloween costume, Baby Dracula.
57. Laughs even when you aren't funny, just to make you feel good. That's why Matt thinks he's funny.
58. Climbed out of his high chair onto the table and jumped off... but didn't cry when he hit the ground. He just looked a little disoriented for a while...
59. Prefers to eat food off the ground. Will often leave some and come back to eat it later.
60. He loves to cuddle, with anybody.
    
61. When you fall asleep on the floor, beware fingers up the nose or in the eye.
62. Not your typical Haitian baby, he loves the cold... or at least climbing in the fridge.
63. Helps missionaries in the MTC know how distracting cute babies can be during a lesson.
64. When bored, he lays on the floor, staring at the ceiling and talks to himself.
65. Loved by his cute cousins, in Michael's words, "Me want to hold this guy."
66. Alex crying is the only thing that can wake Roselaure up in mid sleep. (Once Aunt Roselaure slept through three different ringing phones, an alarm clock, and knocking at the door... all at the same time).
67. He has little black dots on his feet just like mommy.
68. He likes anything shiny, and watch out the hair, he pulls.
69. He broke my necklace twice, my bracelet once.
70. He inherate aunty Roselaure sleeping habit, a very late nighter.
71. As far as we could tell, his fevorite color is yellow.
72. He likes to hold on to the spoon between his theeth while eating, and have a good laugh when I try to pull it out.
