We are Loving this Weather

Negotiating With a 2 Years Old

So, this last Tuesday, Genne was really upset that she could not get into her 'other' Mom's (Leah's) car because she wanted to go to school with Debbie. (This is pretty common, she gets sad every morning we pass Debbie's house and always tries to follow). So, I decided to take her for a walk! We went to the North Wymount area to play in their playground. They have some really cool toys there - a kitchen, high chairs for dolls, and some other (more random) toys. I was getting a bit cold, and she was not wearing the coat which she refuses to wear now, so I decided it was time to go home. This is where it gets good...

Here is our conversation:
Me: Genne, we need to go home.
Genne: No home!
Me: We need to go have some breakfast
Genne: No breakfast!
Me: You can have Chocolate milk...
Genne: No milk!

Me (a little bit impatient) : You can watch Dora
Genne: ORA! ORA! (jumping up and down)

...We struck a deal and started walking home! HA HA HA!  :) My sassy little girl.



After having a kid that doesn't talk ( he is getting there), it is really nice to be able to talk to her and have her respond... Sometimes, it is not what I want to hear, but it is better than nothing. She is turning unto quit the little chatter-box which I love very much.

Too Slow?!

Alex asked me for a "high five" and after I gave it to him, he told me " Too slow" while running away laughing... Silly kid who pretends he doesn't talk or knows what going on, he he he!

My little guy is making some great progress...So proud of him♥

Alex: Muchas glacias ( while walking away, in the most adorable 4 years old voice ever)

Yet... I did not see that one coming

The Definition of Bad Hair Day

She knows how to sport a bad hair fro day

I have no idea what is going on here... It looks even worst in person.

Oh ya! She is rocking it ♥

Then she had a bath ( took me over half and hour to untangled) and nice looking hair again

PS. Just got some more stuff for her hair because we are out and I think that my wallet just screamed!

Will Get There... Eventually.

He is still not communicate much but every once in a while he will ask for apple juice or ships ( his new favorite thing to eat)... The other day, Genne destroyed his block display ( like she always does) and one of them feel off behind the entertainment center and he come to me and said: " My blocks, they are gone", took me a while to understand but he took my hand and show it to me so I can get it for him. ... Our day does get a little harder now days because he is starting to get frustrated when I give him the wrong thing or I don't understand him. He is a brilliant little and starting to understand a whole lot more. We've had more great days then hard days so I think we are doing great and getting there.

PS. He is starting to play pretend which his doctor was a little worries about. The other day, he was trying to get his little Phineas toy to ride his little toy car... I though that was the cutest thing ever because I have never see  him pretend before. I know that a minor thing but for Alex and mamma it is a pretty big step.

Some of his sentences that actually make sense:

• " My blocks, they are gone"
• "Momma, what's going on here"
• " Close your eyes"
• "Here... Genevieve"
• Bye, bye ( at bed time or when we go get him from primary)
• "Thank you, mamma" ( always laugh while saying it... somehow, he find that very funny)
• " Give me the Iphone"
• "please"
• "Be careful Alex" (usually right before he jumps from the kitchen table to the couch)
• " You ok... Genevieve" ( when Genne is trowing a fit)
• " That one" (While touching the TV in other to show what he wants to watch)

And a few more that  I can remember ( sorry, it is late) but I think I got most.

Although Genne understand way more then Alex, she still does whatever Alex does and they play so well together which makes life so much easier. It always makes me so happy watching them play and talking to each other.

Autistic or not, I don't really care because he is the coolest little guy that I know and wouldn't have it any other way...  I know it won't be easy if he never grow out of it and that they may be a lot of hard road but together with lot of love and patient, we will be just fine.

Valentine Day

Valentine's day was simple day spending with the ones I love the most. Spent all day with my kiddos and did some fun stuff together. I LOVE my wonderful family and I am grateful to be able to spend time with them, learn from them and just enjoy the.

• Started our day with a lovely hug so we can sent brother off to school feeling loved ( which we do every morning) but this time Genne did it without me asking her too♥
